Video Lab (6-12) is a unique Digital Story Telling and Digital Narrative Program carefully developed by CLACE and designed under NASA Innovation in Climate Education (NICE) in collaboration with our Fiscal Agent OpEPA.
Our High school and Middle school students meet either once or twice a week for 1.5 hours each time and have scientists meet them on regular bases. Working with an experienced bilingual and bicultural video producer, students developed skills in filming, digital storytelling, and video editing and will be expected to produce a PSA (Public Service Announcement), a Commentary and an Animation that explored climate change topics and environmental issues and an animation. Also, It is important to us that our Video Science Lab students are able to do at least 4 field trips during the school year. Field trip destinations may vary and it depends on students interests and topics they choose to work on, e.g., National Labs, museums, airports and/or natural sites.
